PRE-CONCEPT Masterplan Islands The development of Tiran and Sanafir involves the transformation of a desert-like pair of islands with rocky outcrops that become mountainous on the Southern flank of Tiran. The brief is to bring high-level tourism and a substantial number of Mansions to the islands : further : the conception is to establish a particular mix of straightforward relaxation plus a tantalising reputation for creativity in music and the arts. In addition, they are seen as destinations for yacht owners. There is a further nuance to the programme that inclines towards the definition of Tiran as the more intense – and in parts a definitely ‘fun-loving’ island, but Sanafir, by contrast attracting quieter and more self-effacing personalities.
