Competition Entry | Shortlisted project Project embodies this vision as both a symbolic and functional landmark. Inspired by a piece of cloth, the structure rises lightly toward the sky while remaining grounded. It is not conceived as a monument, but as a usable artifact; creating shade and public space beneath it, where water becomes a central element. From the sea, it appears as a shimmering, floating form that invites curiosity and exploration. As the sun sets, the elevated structure transforms into a majlis at its core, a sheltered communal space that opens toward the sea and night sky, offering protection from the city while emphasizing openness and connection. Its simple yet expressive form recalls nomadic tents, boat hulls, and the crescent moon. It celebrates gathering and frames water as a life-giving presence, creating a destination that belongs equally to the natural and urban realms; a functional landmark within the public space. The proposal is organized across two levels. The upper level, embedded within the sculptural form, provides an intimate, contemplative space with direct views toward the Arabian Gulf. The ground level forms a more open and accessible public realm, structured within the deep shade of the elevated mass, balancing exposure and enclosure, collectivity and retreat. Sub-consultants: EDIT - Archviz
